Glimpses - Passover and The Greater Deliverance

Passover, 1st Nisan, this year falls on April 20, and will be celebrated for six days. It is a festival of joy, remembering the great deliverance from the land of Egypt. At that time, the children of Israel were still forty years from entering and possessing their everlasting inheritance.

Remarkably, there is an even greater Passover, a greater deliverance than the one from Egypt.

" 'Therefore, behold, the days are coming, ' says the LORD, 'that they shall no longer say, "As the LORD lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of Egypt," but, "As the LORD lives who brought up and led the descendants of the house of Israel from the north country and from all the countries where I had driven them." And they shall dwell in their own land.' " (Jeremiah 23:7-8)

Behold, the State of Israel, today – Jewish people who have returned home from the north, south, east and west. Israel has been "brought up and led" back after twenty-five centuries of dispersion among the nations. We are witnesses to prophecy being fulfilled! It is a modern-day Passover, and the beginning of a greater deliverance than when the children of Israel were brought up from the land of Egypt. Praise the LORD!
